“I may have gotten a late start but I am determined to increase my fitness level as I age rather than to let it decline.”

Retired
I have never been into the whole workout thing. I did a stint at the KROC until I fell on the ice and injured my knee. Once recovered, I just never got back into the routine. I had heard about Farmgirlfit from friends, but could not (would not) let it work with my schedule. I knew I needed to take time for myself and incorporate some type of exercise back into my routine. I finally took the plunge almost 2 years ago. I decided I was going to do it – no more excuses. I paid for my membership without having taken a class and I’m still going.
I had heard how great FGF was from friends. They would always say, “They have 4 levels” and “They can modify.” With some of my limitations, I was thinking “Yeah right!” I can honestly say, even though it is a group class the Coaches work with you individually. I was not able to do a sit-up my first week. During one workout, I wallowed around on the floor trying to do it. Jenni saw my struggle, came over and offered me an adjustment so I could do it. I got a great work out and I felt it in my abs the next day. This is true for anyone, whether it is someone that has been there for years and has a limitation or like I was, just starting out.
I may have gotten a late start but I am determined to increase my fitness level as I age rather than to let it decline.
Sticking with it for almost two years now, especially after my 2 month hiatus with shingles. My squats were soooo sad when I started but I can actually hit parallel now. Also doing a 24” box jump was pretty amazing.
I want to continue to gain strength and improve form. I also really need to work on my diet.
I’m a classic rocker but I do like most of what is played in the gym. Light Em Up by Fall Out Boy is a good one.
Favorite: is probably full kettlebell swings as they feel good on my back. Least: Burpees – just because!
One more, one more . . .
Amazing group of women. Everyone from coaches to members is so encouraging.
I just feel healthier and stronger all the way around. To my husband’s surprise I am able to do more physically around our small 17 acre farm whether is it helping with haying, lifting bags of feed, shoveling snow or stacking firewood.
I am a master of Candy Crush
Death By Chocolate ice cream.

It’s never easy, but if I can do it, you can do it. You will surprise yourself everyday.
The complimentary yoga classes offered at FGF are huge for me. They are my recovery days while keeping me moving. My balance, range of motion, and flexibility have improved immensely. As with The Grind, I am always amazed at what I am able to do today that was not happening 2 years ago. Kim is so knowledgeable in body mechanics and always takes into consideration our prior workouts and what our bodies may need in a particular class. She modifies the yoga to meet the needs of the class and takes time to work individually. She makes me feel like a beautiful swan.
